Home Blessing - 'Corizon', 'Heart of the Home'
Home Blessing - 'Corizon', 'Heart of the Home'
'Corizon', 'Heart of the Home, or 'Heart of the Corn'
This design is a traditional Mexican House Blessing. Corizon translated means ‘Heart ‘, and it may have been so named as it represented ‘The Heart of the Home’. Its name could indicate either it’s placement within the home, or its importance to the family. It may simply reflect the shape of the design, but there is no doubt however, that it has been made in Mexico as a House blessing for generations. Folklorists believe that it was first brought to Mexico by the Moors, who travelled with the army of Cortez.
This beautiful House Blessing design can be adapted to suit a special occasion, such as moving into a new home; or given as a gift to someone to bless their existing house.
