This Beautiful Hard Wood Pendulum have been handcrafted and turned by Justin. Every pendulum he creates is individually turned and shaped to enhance the natural beauty of the wood and amplify its energy.
Most of this wood is taken from an ancient Devon woodland and collected with care from fallen trees. Other woods are gathered during seasonal coppicing work, annual pruning, or was found as fallen wood.
All of Justins’ handcrafted pendulums are created with love, positive intentions and just a little magic!

What each wood symbolises
Oak symbolises strength, truth, protection, authority, prosperity and bravery. Oak is one of the most sacred trees and it carries the energy of kingship and wise rule, personal sovereignty, authority, power, protection, sealing or opening doors, endurance, and invocation of wisdom, fertility and abundance. Oak magic inspires bravery, presence, leadership skills, prosperity, and strength “Mighty oaks from little acorns grow” goes the quote. This tree inspires us to be strong in body, mind and spirit. It is a sacred and revered tree representing endurance, power, protection and authority.
Alder symbolises journeys, self confidence, bravery, and spiritual growth. Alder has always been considered a powerful and magical tree and was sacred to the Druids. When cut Alder wood at first turns red as if bleeding. Alder Wood is beneficial for journeys, self confidence, bravery, and spiritual growth.
Hazel symbolises artistic ability, optimism, love and inspiration. Hazel is one of the very oldest British native trees. Traces of hazel nut shells and pollen have been discovered in cave settlements, dating from around 10,000 years ago. The tree is associated with the Goddess Brigid, goddess of wisdom and divine inspiration. Hazel traditionally symbolises and encourages artistic ability, optimism, love and inspiration.
Yew symbolises regeneration, rebirth, protection, communication with the other world and traditionally used for dowsing. Yew has always been considered a powerful and magical tree and Yew Wood is thought to be beneficial for regeneration, rebirth, protection, communication with the other world and was traditionally used for dowsing.
Holly symbolises purity, strength, logic, power transfer and protection. Holly wood carries the energies of purity, strength, logic, power transfer and protection. Holly items are often used in magic concerning sleep. It is said that a man who carries the leaves and berries of holly is irresistible to women. Since the story of the ruler ship of the Holly King and the Oak King deal with cycles and rebirth, it is often used in magic to ease the loss of loved ones to death. It also carries properties of the sacred, material advance, physical revenge, and beauty.
Rowan symbolises strength, initiation, healing, psychic energies, personal power and success. The Rowan tree is often called 'Witchwood' and is long known for aid and protection against enchantment. It is also associated with divination, astral work, strength, initiation, healing, psychic energies, working with spirits of the dead, psychic powers, personal power, and success. Sticks of the Rowan were used to carve Runes on. It was also used in the art of metal divining. Rowan spays and crosses were placed over cattle in pens and over homes for protection. The berries also have a tiny pentagram on them. The Rowan tree indicates protection and control of the senses from enchantment and beguiling. The Rowan was sacred to the Druids and the Goddess Brigit. It is a very magical tree used for wands, rods, amulets and spells. A forked Rowan branch can help find water. Wands are for knowledge, locating metal and general divination.
Beech symbolises creativity, leadership, companionship, aspiration, desire, and victory. Beech Wood is thought to be beneficial for creativity, leadership, companionship, aspiration, desire, and victory. The Celts used the nut of this tree to fodder the sacred swine. Norse tradition says that tablets of Beech were used to make the very first writing tablets for the runes. Beech helps to balance mental health, aspiration, desire, and victory are all key elements of this wood. Used while working with ancestors, old wisdom, and magickal research. Beech is a sacred wood of the summer solstice.
Ivy symbolises determination, strength, optimism and spiritual growth. Druids consider this wood to be sacred and it makes good ritual tools for protection, especially against wayward spirits and angry elementals. Ivy is also highly regarded for it's ability to bring you back to earth, should you ever feel lost in the other realms, just ask to be shown Ivy and you will always find your way home.
Olive symbolises insight, inspiration and communication. The Olive Branch has often been a symbol of abundance, glory, and peace. The leafy branches of the olive tree were ritually offered to deities and powerful figures as emblems of benediction and purification, and they were used to crown the victors of games. Today, olive oil is still used in many religious ceremonies. Over the years, the olive has also been used to symbolise wisdom, fertility, power, and purity.
Maple bestows the spiritual lessons of change, communication, and even rebelliousness. Known as a traveler’s wood, maple will have you adapting, learning and growing in many ways. Maple is the tree of offering, giving of one's self so that others may benefit. It holds the qualities of creation, communication, binding, revolution, rebirth, healing, beauty, art, and abundance. Full of imagination and originality, those who are always on the move and changing will feel right at home with this type of energy and gypsies believe Maple brings gold and that eating the seeds draws love.
Cherry. Ritual objects are very strong with Earth energy and very well grounded, unwavering, and solid. Cherry is used in ritual to stabilize and focus. Cherry is often used for intuitive and insight and to overcome obstacles. Cherry is imbued with the powers of making and doing, achievement, and self-assertion over obstacles and critics. It is the pure energy of will and desire. The cherry fruit is magically linked to the root chakra and so to sex and birth: the life force of attraction and renewal.
Walnut holds the powers of the breath, teleportation, astral travel, and inspiration. Symbolic of confidence, wisdom and inspiration. Walnut teaches us clarity and focus, using our mental gifts wisely and how to best use our intelligence.

Ash wood carries the energies of ambition, trustworthiness and faithfulness and is an excellent wood for promoting brain power. Ash aids in communication, intelligence, wisdom, and promotes curiosity. Use this wood to remove mental blockages and aid in the promotion of word use and understanding. It is the wood of the writer, poet, and scholar. Promotes spiritual love and health. Protects against unwanted change and brings balance to the mind.

Known as the “giving tree” birch contains the essence of truth and birth. Birch gives the essence of truth and in Druid and Celtic mythologies Birch is valued as the tree of inception and beginnings. Birch is also a wood with great powers to purify and discipline. It is is associated with the element of water and is a tree of the sun and the planet Venus. Birch is a sacred Celtic tree and governs the time from 24th December to 20th January. It is one of the first trees to naturally establish in cleared forests and the Druids associated this wood with the white stag.
✩ Hawthorn symbolises protection, creativity, self confidence, purification and patience. Hawthorn brings the energy of protection, creativity, self confidence, purification and patience. It has a masculine energy and is a sacred tree in Celtic Astrology being the guardian from 13th May to 9th June. Considered sacred by the Celtic summer flower maiden Olwen so also associated with the owl. Hawthorn is associated with the element of Air and is sacred to Aquarius and the wind lord Vashaan. It was often planted in the parameters of a cottage for protection. It is believed that fairies live in the hedges of Hawthorn especially if near ash or oak. Having Blackthorn and Hawthorn growing in grove together creates a strong magical energy and we are blessed to such a grove in our sacred woodland.
